G. Edgar Parker brings more than 40 years of legal knowledge, experience, and broad-based litigation skill to his role as the firm’s senior active partner.
Ed has represented defendants and plaintiffs in jury and non-jury trials and appeals in District Court, Superior Court, the N.C. Court of Appeals, and the N.C Supreme Court. From felony criminal trials to real-estate disputes and divorce settlements, he has amassed a remarkable record of legal acumen and effectiveness on behalf of his clients.
Since his designation as a N.C. Board-Certified Specialist in Family Law in 1989, Ed has focused solely on family law and divorce, representing clients in pre-marital and separation agreements, divorces, custody, child support, and complex alimony and equitable distribution (property) cases, as well as representing plaintiffs and defendants in alienation of affections and criminal conversation cases, in Forsyth and other N.C. counties. Ed has received the highest rating (AV) by Martindale-Hubbell and has been listed in The Best Lawyers in America for more than 10 years.
He has also served as a mediator and as an arbitrator in family law cases. In 2013, the N.C. Dispute Resolution Commission certified Ed to conduct mediations of Equitable Distribution and other Family Financial cases in N.C. District Court actions. He was certified by the same commission in 2014 as a Family Financial Mediator, and also in 2015 to conduct Mediated Settlement Conferences in N.C. Superior Court civil actions.
Ed received his undergraduate degree from Wake Forest University in 1968 and his J.D. from Wake Forest University School of Law in 1971.
When he isn’t at the office, Ed’s interests are as varied as his legal accolades. He enjoys tennis, basketball, reading, photography, fishing, beach music and attending Highland Presbyterian Church.
